Sketch for Survival Exhibition & Auction

‘Contemplation II’, 75x50cm acrylic on linen canvas.

I have just finished my latest piece; the second in my ‘Contemplation’ series, which will be donated to the Explorers Against Extinction ‘Sketch for Survival’ exhibition & charity auction.

Contemplation II aims to raise awareness of the vulnerability of the species. Numbers of giraffes in the wild are dropping rapidly and the remaining herds face threats, such as poaching and habitat loss. Several sub-species have already been moved from the ‘vulnerable’ to the ‘endangered’ or even ‘critically endangered’ categories on the IUCN Red List.

Luckily, conservation charities, such as Explorers Against Extinction, are doing their part to help protect these beautiful animals. Through their 21 for 21 initiative, they will be raising money for sub-species, such as the West African Giraffe. This piece will be going up for sale in their charity exhibition and auction later in the year.
